He didn't have much influence in the shadows, so he had to rely on the people he openly associated with, which meant he needed to be extremely cautious.
He was determined not to involve Fitch and Ian in this matter. It was his decision to help his woman, so naturally, he had to rely on his own connections.
Unless Athena's life was ever in danger, only then might he consider asking those two for help.
Athena had listened to Tyler and learned just how formidable Marlon truly was.
Tyler slowly revealed what he had discovered about the Keller family's past dealings, how they had cleaned up their act. Marlon's ruthless tactics were evident in all of it.
Just hearing about it made Athena's heart race with apprehension. No wonder Tyler had warned her that Marlon was a tough adversary.
Had Marlon not been so cruel, he might have been considered a hero of his time, even in ancient eras.
Tyler also mentioned Mrs. Keller's role in all of this. Overall, Grandma Edith wasn't as kind-hearted as she appeared.
Athena leaned back into Tyler's embrace, realizing how laughable her attempt to take action on her own seemed to him.
No wonder Tyler's expression had changed so quickly at the Keller family dinner; he probably thought she was on a suicide mission.
If Tyler really liked her, what was his state of mind in helping her?
Athena didn't want to dwell on feelings, but lately, Tyler's actions had been reassuring, and she began to see him in a different light.
In the evening, another delivery arrived from the Keller family, once again full of priceless gifts. This time, Grandma Edith came along.
It seemed Grandma Edith was determined to bring Athena back into the family fold, her demeanor even more pleasant than before.
"Athena, come here and let me have a look at you. Have you lost weight these past few days?"
She held Athena's hand gently, her eyes warm. "I know you're not ready to come back to the Keller family yet, but everything can be discussed. Just tell me how you'd like us to proceed."
Athena gave a slight smile, "I want Maggie out of Greenfield. She can disappear, be sent abroad, whatever it takes. Can you do that, Grandma Edith?"

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
