Maggie's face turned as pale as a sheet, and she suddenly felt restless in her seat.
She took a deep breath, trying her best to keep her expression from twisting into something ugly.
If Grandma Edith really talked to Abner, she knew she'd be sent packing, because there was no way Abner would have her back.
She needed to come up with a plan. Fast.
Athena had to go.
It was all Athena's fault!
She called her contacts, intending for them to continue keeping an eye on the house where the person was hiding. But due to their carelessness, that person had given them the slip.
Maggie's mind was a whirlwind of chaos. If things kept going like this, she'd lose everything!
She quickly grabbed her keys and drove around the neighborhood where Athena lived.
She swore to herself that if she saw Athena now, she'd slam on the gas and run that bitch over without a second thought.
But Athena didn't show.
Maggie didn't go back home. She was too scared to do anything else these days, so she just kept lurking around Athena's place.
Her car was parked in a hidden spot, afraid that Tyler's people might spot her, so she observed from the farthest distance every time.
For three days, she didn't catch even a glimpse of Athena, although she did notice Grandma Edith's car. It seemed Grandma Edith had come by to see Athena again.
Jealousy clouded Maggie's face. She thought back to high school when she'd walked all over Athena, and now here Athena was, climbing right over her.
She gripped the steering wheel tightly, her eyes lighting up when she saw Athena finally emerge.
Athena stood beside Grandma Edith, who affectionately patted her head, speaking softly. Both of them were smiling.
While their side of the street seemed peaceful and serene, Maggie was drowning in a sea of envy.
She gritted her teeth, unable to resist calling her contacts again.
"Still haven't figured out who Athena's hiding?"
"Ms. Olson, I've asked the delivery drivers who took food there. They said it's a woman living in that house."

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
