Marlon and Athena spent some time snuggled together before he took her hand and suggested they head to the beach to enjoy the scenery.
Athena had an intense fear of the seaside. The ocean had taken Kerwin from her, leaving her life haunted by nightmares.
Staring at the calm surface of the water, her chest heaved with anxiety, though her face betrayed nothing.
Marlon, oblivious to her inner turmoil, held her hand as they walked on the soft sand.
"Athena, isn't the moon here just beautiful?" Marlon asked.
A naive smile spread across Athena's face. "It's lovely. I've never seen a moon quite like this."
Marlon smiled, pulling her into his arms, content to stand there in silence.
He genuinely found the moon enchanting, but he had never experienced this feeling before—watching the scenery with a woman added a unique flavor to the experience.
Athena played along with Marlon throughout. When he suggested dipping their toes in the ocean, she followed suit.
As their feet touched the water, Marlon suddenly asked, "Does this beach remind you of anything?"
Confusion flickered in Athena's eyes. She wondered what he meant.
Marlon was tempted to mention Kerwin. His research indicated that Athena had once deeply loved Kerwin, a love so intense that his death during their most passionate year must have left an indelible mark.
Even though Murphy had used hypnotic techniques, Marlon feared she might suddenly recall everything.
But Athena's eyes remained devoid of recognition, as if she had no idea what he was talking about.
Relieved, Marlon pulled her closer. "If you can't remember, that's okay. Give me your hand, and let's explore the area before heading back to sleep."

Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
