Adelina Lane let out a soft chuckle. “She saw a video of someone arranging flowers and thought it looked fun, so I had some delivered and showed her how to do it.”

Beatty nodded enthusiastically from the side. “It’s really fun! Once I’m done, I want to give my bouquet to Olivia.”

Olivia Bennett’s eyes sparkled with amusement. “That sounds great. Why don’t we keep going? Want to arrange some flowers together?”

Beatty’s eyes went wide. “You’ll do it with me, Olivia?”

Olivia nodded. “Of course, we’ll do it together.”

Beatty was over the moon.

Olivia turned to Ethan Carter. “Mom and I are going to keep working on these flowers. Why don’t you and Dad go relax for a bit?”

Ethan glanced at her, then at Adelina and Beatty. Not wanting to interrupt, he ruffled Olivia’s hair. “If you need anything, just call me.”

Olivia grinned up at him, her blue eyes bright as stars. “Actually, I do need something.”

Ethan raised an eyebrow. “Oh yeah? What is it?”

She patted her belly with a sly smile. “Your little one here is getting thirsty. Could you fetch us some water?”

Ethan played along, his gaze warm and affectionate. “Sure thing. Tell the little rascal to wait a sec, and not to give my darling any trouble.”

Olivia kept playing along, patting her belly again. “Don’t worry, it promised to be good.”

She sounded so convincing that you’d almost believe she really heard it speak.

Ethan gave her a look full of fondness before heading off to get the water.

Beatty leaned closer. “Olivia, do you want some water? I can go get it.”

Adelina gently pulled her back, laughing softly. “Olivia already has water, honey. Let’s get back to our flowers.”

Beatty stared at Olivia, puzzled. “You’ve already got water?”

Olivia blushed a little but quickly nodded. “Yep, I’m all set. These flowers are gorgeous, but I’m not sure I’m doing it right. Mom, can you show me how?”

She pointed at the blooms on the table, and just like that, Beatty’s attention shifted. “I know how! I’ll teach you, Olivia.”
