From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 106

She remembered how they first met back in college. Yolanda had put up a help-wanted post on the confession wall, looking for someone who could take photos and do some editing. For Eleanor, it was the easiest job ever. She loved photography and editing, so there was no way she’d let that chance slip by. That’s how they became friends, and when Yolanda learned about Eleanor’s family situation, she even helped her land a few high-paying tutoring gigs. Deep down, Eleanor was honestly grateful to have a friend like her.

“Yolanda, they know about the miscarriage,” Eleanor muttered, taking a sip of her beer.

Yolanda noticed it was just a light beer, so she didn’t try to stop her. She just lifted her own glass. “How did that jerk react?”

Eleanor shook her head. “Autumn found out first. My mom and my brother know too.” As for Peter… he probably knew by now as well.

“So what if they know?” Yolanda said, trying to cheer her up. “What can Peter even do at this point? The divorce summons is already here. All that’s left is the court date. I checked, and I’m free that day, so I’ll be there to back you up.”

Eleanor knew she couldn’t count on her mom for support. Yolanda was one of the few people who understood her family situation inside and out.

Eleanor gave a small, bitter smile. “It’s fine. People aren’t usually allowed to say anything during the hearing anyway.”

Yolanda frowned. “Still, having someone there with you makes a difference. At least you won’t be sitting there all alone.”

“Thank you, Yolanda.”

Eleanor had always suspected that Max’s friendliness toward her was really just because he couldn’t stand Peter. After hearing all this, she was sure of it.

Yolanda patted her on the shoulder. “Just keep working hard at Clarkson Corporation. Get that promotion, make it to management, really show him what he’s missing. Once you’re there, you can find someone way better than Peter.”

She grinned. “And hey, isn’t Max still single? Eleanor, maybe you should go for it. Divorce Peter and become his new aunt.”

Eleanor stared at her, horrified. “Yolanda, are you crazy?”
