From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 155

When her daughter refused to apologize, Juliana decided to handle things herself and went to find Jessie Goff.

Jessie barely hid her annoyance when Juliana walked into the conference room. She had never thought much of Juliana, just a housekeeper. The only reason she’d ever been friendly was to make Eleanor uncomfortable.

“Juliana, is there something you wanted? I’m actually pretty busy right now.” Jessie’s tone made it obvious that if Juliana didn’t have anything important to say, she should leave.

Juliana forced a polite smile. “Ms. Goff, I’m really sorry. I honestly didn’t know about the things Eleanor did. She never told me about the court hearing. If I’d known, I wouldn’t have let her act like that. I came today to apologize to you in person.”

She stood up and gave a deep bow, her voice soft and sincere. “I’m truly sorry.”

Jessie didn’t even pretend to be moved. “Sorry doesn’t fix anything. The damage your daughter did is already done.” Deep down, she was still a little surprised that Juliana would come here just to apologize. Did Juliana really think that would change anything?

Juliana nodded. “I know it’s not enough, Ms. Goff, but I wanted to come anyway, to ask for your forgiveness.”

Jessie let out a cold laugh. “You can go now. I have a meeting coming up. As for forgiveness, don’t count on it.”

She shot Juliana a look full of contempt, still not understanding how Eleanor could have a mother like this. Jessie already disliked Eleanor, but she disliked this kind of desperate groveling even more. Even so, she couldn’t help but wonder what Juliana really wanted.

Later, Jessie picked up her phone. “Adam, can you help me look into someone?”

Adam sounded curious. “Who do you want me to check out?”

The Clarksons, Sidlers, and Cranes were the three families no one dared to mess with. And this branch of the Clarksons was the main family, not Peter’s side.

Kennedy asked the housekeeper to bring Linden some tea and set the demand letter aside, giving a polite smile. “Mr. Sidler, I just saw your brother at the summit yesterday. Funny running into you again so soon.”

Linden didn’t bother with small talk. “My brother doesn’t bother me with things like this.”

He checked his watch. “I have court soon, so let’s get straight to the point. We should discuss your sister.”

Kennedy felt a chill. Clearly, Linden wasn’t going to do him any favors. Still, Kennedy couldn’t help but wonder—how had Eleanor managed to get someone like Linden Sidler on her side?
