From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 195

Eleanor pressed her lips together. “So, what do you want from me?”

Patrick’s smile twisted into something sleazy as he licked his lips. “I could let you go, but I need a little something first. Call it interest.”

He turned and shouted, “Come in!” toward the door.

Juliana’s hands were cold and shaky as she unlocked the iron door. She stepped inside, looking tense.

Eleanor stared at her, stunned. “Mom…”

“You used Jared’s phone to trick me?”

Juliana looked guilty for a second, but then her voice turned defensive. “Eleanor, you can’t blame me for this. If you want someone to blame, blame yourself for divorcing Peter. If you’d stayed married, maybe he’d still be around to protect you.”

“I didn’t have another choice. I had to look out for Jared…”

Eleanor felt like someone was stabbing her heart over and over. The pain was so sharp, it almost didn’t feel real anymore. She went numb, all in an instant.

Looking at Juliana and Patrick, she couldn’t recognize them as her parents anymore. In this moment, they were just cruel strangers.

Patrick barked, “Enough talking. Turn your phone camera on. I’m taking her clothes off.”

He sneered, “Don’t get my face in the video. Come on, my dear daughter, your old man won’t just watch for free. Maybe I’ll put it online for everyone to see. Would you like that?”

Panic and anger surged through Eleanor. She thrashed against the ropes. “Don’t touch me! Get away! You’re disgusting! You’re not my father, get away from me!”

The more she fought, the more hyped up Patrick became. His dirty hands, nails filled with grime, reached for her white shirt.

Eleanor’s hope drained away. Was this really happening? Was she going to be humiliated like this? She hated herself for caring so much about her family, for letting her guard down… and this is what they did to her.

With a loud crash, the iron door flew open.

Patrick swore under his breath and bolted from the room.

Max rushed in, his eyes icy with fury when he saw Eleanor tied up. He looked like he wanted to tear Patrick apart with his bare hands.

“Go after him!” Max shouted to the bodyguards behind him.

Juliana collapsed on the floor, her face ashen. “It wasn’t me, I swear, this has nothing to do with me…”

“Mr. Clarkson, thank you. You saved me again.”

Max’s jaw was tight. He looked angry at himself. “I’m sorry he got away.”

He hadn’t expected Patrick to outrun five bodyguards.

“I’ve put out a city-wide alert. As long as he’s in the Capital, we’ll catch him.”

“What about Juliana? What do you want to do with her?”

Eleanor bit her lip, hesitation written all over her face. If she called the police, Jared’s future would be ruined.

“Can you give me a little time to think about it?”

Max nodded. “Take all the time you need. My people are watching her. She’s not going anywhere.”

Suddenly, Eleanor realized that all the strength she’d built up over the years felt like it could shatter at any moment.

She looked at Max, her eyes searching his face. “Does your offer from before… does it still count?”
