From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 202

The second Max hit post on his social media, his entire friend group lost their minds.

[Katie: Max, did you actually get married??]

[Linden: No way, is it really who I think it is?]

[Shawn Crane: Wait, you got married and didn’t tell us?]

Shawn didn’t waste a second before calling Linden. “Dude, what’s going on? Is it really her?”

Linden just laughed. “Who else could it be? Trust me, things are about to get interesting.”

Even Hunter, who never bothered with social media, got pulled over by his daughter to check out Max’s post. He stared at the screen for a long time, rubbing his eyes like maybe he’d read it wrong.

Hunter tried calling Max.

Max was driving when his phone rang. He glanced at the screen and hit decline without a second thought.

Eleanor looked at him, a little unsure. “You’re not going to answer?”

Max shrugged. “It’s nothing important.”

She had no clue that the news about their marriage was spreading like wildfire through the city’s elite families. Everyone was busy guessing who Max’s mysterious bride could be. If she’d known, she probably would’ve begged him to take the post down right away.

Instead, Max took her shopping for home stuff. First stop, the furniture section.

Eleanor looked confused. “Did your bed break or something?”

He shook his head. “Nah. My place just feels smaller now that there’s two of us. Don’t you think we need something bigger?” Max smiled, then patted the mattress next to him. “Come see for yourself. This one feels pretty comfy.”

Eleanor quickly dropped her gaze, but not before her ears turned bright red.

When they went to pay, Eleanor spoke up with a smile. “Let me get this one. Think of it as my wedding present to you.”

She felt like she was getting the better end of this marriage, and she’d probably need his help at some point. Covering the bill made her feel a little better about things.

Max lifted his brow, his expression unreadable. “So your wedding gift to me is… a bed?”

Eleanor was about to protest, but the way he said it made her realize how suggestive it sounded coming from him.

They were just about to keep shopping when Max’s phone rang again, this time with a call he couldn’t ignore.

“Get home right now!” The voice on the other end was so loud and commanding that Eleanor heard it too. It had to be Max’s dad, George.

Max let out a soft click of his tongue. “Sorry. Looks like we’ll have to finish this some other time.”
