From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 254

“I do mind,” Eleanor replied with a faint smile. “But what does that have to do with me loving your designs?”

Eleanor cared about the designs, nothing else. She was paying for what she liked. That was all there was to it.

Max could have found a hundred better bridal shops. He could have hired the top designers in the world if he wanted. But you can’t put a price on something that truly speaks to you.

“Bring in a few more workers. We’ll cover the rush fees. We need your sketches by next week, and the finished gowns in three weeks. Is that doable?” Max’s tone was easy and unhurried.

“Yes, I can do it!” Sydney blurted. The first answer was for them, the second was to reassure herself.

Looking at Max, Sydney realized just how out of her league she’d been. He was so composed, so refined. Of course Eleanor wouldn’t be interested in someone like Wesley when she had a husband like this.

She couldn’t help but laugh at her own old naivety.

Eleanor added Sydney on Messenger, sent the deposit, and then they left.

Outside, Max glanced at Eleanor with a hint of a smile. “You really like her designs that much?”

Eleanor’s lips curved in a soft smile. “I do.”

Max didn’t ask anything more. “Alright, Mrs. Clarkson, you’ve made your pick. Now it’s your turn to help me pick out a suit.”

...

The first thing Jessie Goff did after getting her marriage certificate was call her dad with the news.

She was expecting excitement. Instead, Otto just sounded stunned.

“Jessie, you got married without even asking me? Don’t you think that’s a problem?”

Jessie’s happiness faded right away. “Dad, aren’t you happy for me?”
