From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 253

With Kristina in her corner, Sydney wasted no time gathering solid proof that Wesley was cheating. She filed for divorce without looking back.

She wasn’t at fault here. In fact, she was entitled to a hefty share of Wesley’s assets. To keep him from hiding his money, she made sure the court froze his accounts.

Sydney hadn’t worked in years. After the Ovard family went bankrupt, every bit of her savings had gone to keeping their lives afloat. Wesley hadn’t exactly been generous, either. Most of what she had left went straight to their son.

Now, looking at the reality, Sydney realized she was basically broke. She had two apartments and a commercial property, but beyond that, there was nothing. Her pockets were empty.

Thankfully, Kristina proved to be the kind of friend everyone hopes for. She found Sydney an excellent divorce lawyer and, more importantly, helped her believe in herself again.

Sydney had once been a star at her design school and even launched her own brand right out of college. But after having her child, she put everything on hold. Sometimes, she’d think back to those days—sketching late into the night, the thrill of design competitions—like it all happened just yesterday.

“Sydney, you should start your own brand again. I’ll help invest,” Kristina told her.

The words meant more than Sydney could say.

Then, by pure luck, Eleanor came across a photo Sydney posted online—a silhouette of a wedding dress, simple yet stunning. Eleanor was hooked.

Max furrowed his brow. “You’re sure this is the place?”

The shop was quiet, almost too quiet, and there wasn’t even a sign out front. Max didn’t love the idea of his wife buying her wedding gown from an unknown boutique.

Eleanor double-checked the address on her phone and then on the door. “Yeah, this is it.”

She stepped inside and found herself face-to-face with Sydney, who hurried out from the back, just as surprised to see Eleanor.

For a second, neither of them spoke. Then Sydney blurted out, “Are you here to settle an old score?”

Eleanor glanced at Max before pulling out her phone. “You’re the owner here?”
