Eleanor let out a sigh and squeezed her friend’s arm, then shot Max a knowing glance.

Max clicked his tongue. “Alright, enough already. Let’s wrap this up. If you’re thinking about proposing, do it tomorrow during the day.” He just wanted to go home with his wife and have some time alone. Why make a scene so late at night?

Linden never intended to settle everything tonight. He just wanted to give Frank a heads-up, especially since Yolanda had blocked his number with a vengeance. “Frank, sorry for bothering you tonight. Tomorrow, I’ll bring my parents over to formally propose. But Grandpa, could you please ask Yolanda to unblock me?”

Frank grinned so wide it looked like his cheeks might split. “Yolanda, let Linden out of the doghouse. You two should talk things out.”
