From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 365

"Not in the ocean. It's not safe. There should be a private pool at our place. Let's swim there instead."

This private island was enormous. Other than the staff, the whole beach was theirs. Instead of a regular hotel, there were rows of stand-alone villas, each with its own slice of sand and a different view of the sea, plus a dedicated butler for each one.

Linden just walked away from Max and Eleanor, picked a villa he liked, and settled in. The one they chose faced right toward the sunset.

"It's gorgeous," Yolanda said, her eyes wide with surprise. They'd gotten lucky, catching the sky all lit up with the colors of dusk.

Linden's eyes lingered on her. "Wanna swim? It'll get too cold if we wait until later."

Yolanda hesitated for a moment, then nodded. "Yeah, I'll go change."

When she came back out in a pink strappy swimsuit, Linden was already in the pool, leaning back and waiting for her. His eyes found her right away, and the sight of her pale, flawless skin made him narrow his gaze, just a little.

Yolanda had always dressed boldly, never shy or awkward, maybe thanks to all the time she'd spent abroad. She and Linden stayed on opposite sides of the pool. She set her glass of red wine on the edge, slid into the water, and just floated there, sipping and watching the sunset. Everything felt easy and perfect.

She didn't notice Linden drifting closer through the water. Just as she finished her wine, his low voice came from right beside her. "Was it good?"

Yolanda blinked at him. "Pretty good, yeah."

"If you want more, I'll have the butler bring another bottle."

"No need," she said.

He smiled, lips curving. "I'll just have yours."

Yolanda was about to tell him her glass was empty, but before she could, his lips crashed into hers, hot and hungry. "Mmm..."

His hand slid around her waist under the water, holding her tight against him. The coolness of the pool mixed with the heat of his body, and Yolanda's head started to spin. Maybe it was the sunset, maybe the wine, but her cheeks flamed.
