Mr. Bragg was known for being cold, ruthless, and tyrannical. Once he made a decision, no one could change his mind. His subordinates had no choice but to obey. She hadn't expected Niamh to agree so readily, or to seem so genuinely pleased with the offer.
To have landed two jobs in one day, both with decent pay, made Niamh ecstatic. The moment she stepped out of the conference room, she did a little jump for joy.
From his office window, Jareth happened to see her celebratory leap.
Was this woman insane? Who gets that excited about a job cleaning toilets?
“Mr. Bragg, why did you make her clean the toilets?” Usher asked, risking his boss’s wrath.
Jareth shot him a cold glare. “I don’t like the look of her. Is that a problem?”
Usher forced a grin. “No, sir. Of course not.”
It was his company, after all. Still, it was strange. Mr. Bragg was a tyrant, but he never targeted junior employees, let alone young women. This was a first.
Niamh was waiting for the elevator when Rhoslyn rushed out, grabbed her by the wrist, and dragged her into a nearby stairwell. She slammed Niamh against the wall.
