I Owe the Tyrant Four Little Heirs novel Chapter 7

Niamh met Rhoslyn’s gaze with a calm, steady look and said, enunciating each word, “I. Am. Not. Leaving.”

Rhoslyn’s face turned green with fury. She took a deep breath, forcing a softer tone. “How about this, Niamh? I can get you a job at another company, an office clerk position. It’s much more respectable than cleaning toilets.”

“No, thank you,” Niamh said flatly. “I happen to like this job. And Rhoslyn, from now on, while we’re at this company, I’d appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone we know each other. The thought of it… disgusts me.”

With that, Niamh shoved Rhoslyn aside.

“You!” Rhoslyn sputtered, feeling as if her lungs would burst. Those were the very words she had planned to say to Niamh.

How dare a janitor look down on an HR supervisor? The arrogance was unbelievable.

Watching Niamh’s defiant retreat, Rhoslyn kicked the door in frustration.

She had to get Niamh fired before Cormac returned from his business trip. Even cleaning toilets was too close for comfort.

Following company policy, Niamh went to a designated clinic for a physical exam. Everything came back normal. Afterward, she went to Versatile Home Services to pick up the key from Winnie.

Winnie explained that the cleaning schedule was Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday. Since today was Monday, she should head over soon and try to be done by 9:30 p.m. The owner of the villa returned home at that time every night and disliked having anyone else in the house. The man was, Winnie reiterated, very peculiar.

By the time Niamh left the agency, it was already after three, so she hurried to a nearby market to buy groceries.
