Ira’s Pov
“Who among you freed my soul and those of my men?” a voice asks from behind and we turn back around to see a man dressed in old robes and a golden crown standing on the other side of the dark pit. In his wrinkled hands he holds a trumpet. “King Alodias?” Kind Adon ask.
“Yes. I and my arny have been trapped here with no hope of ever leaving. You, an unexpected friend, have set us free,” the man responds. “Take this, it is a gesture of our gratitude to you,” he starts to fly across the pit like he is still a ghost.
Suddenly, the doors of the structure close, the broken chains stretch to become longer and lock the doors again, like they have a mind of their own.
“They are here!” King Alodias gasps before diving back into the dark pit. But he and his men are free now, they can leave anytime.
King Adon hurries to the closed doors and tries breaking the chains again, but it’s like they have been made stronger by another spell. We have been separated from his brothers and Lior.
I hear sounds of chaos can be heard from outside. I imagine that Tiras, Ronen and Lior are fighting whatever they said was coming, and we cannot help.
A sudden bright light appears on the left wall of the structure. It grows and opens at the centre to reveal a portal. The other side looks like a witch’s cave.
“We are going to be captives of Lysandra and the dark angel!” Linda gasps in horror. “All because of you! Every good man followed you here!” she screams at me.
I must have been too engrossed in staring at the portal that I fail to react fast when she grabs the back of my coat and yanks me backwards, towards the dark pit.
My limbs frail as I fall head first into the endless abyss, screaming. The darkness envelopes me, thick and choking. I close my eyes to be able to see, and there is no end in sight to the abyss.
I have died before saving my father? All the efforts, the pain I have been through have been for nothing. Linda got too jealous and ruined everything.
I am afraid of where I will end. The fall is scary yet I am more frightened of meeting the end of this pit.
Something wraps around my waist and the fall suddenly halts. “Who would have thought she would do that?” King Adon’s voice mutters from behind.
His right hand is wrapped around my waist, holding me in place as his massive wings turns us back around.
We landed on a magical circle that seem to be draining our strengths. I am already finding it hard to shift my body. I notice that Adon has a trumpet in his grasp, yet he didn’t take the one that King Alodias had offered us. It’s definitely must be an illusion.
In front of us is sets wide table laid with… horrors! Pieces of dead human bodies are scattered across the space, like the most hideous sacrifice just took place. Blood drips from the table and into waiting bows set on the floor.
It’s appalling and repulsive. What powers can be worth so much evil?
Beyond the table full of gross, a shimmering throne for two sets at the far head of the cave. A man, weirdly pale and visibly distressed for someone on such a magnificent throne, gazes at us with tired eyes.
The woman beside him, dressed in pure black and gold jewelry, seem to be beaming with excitement. Her fingers stroke the side of his face, lovingly.
She must be Lysandra, the angel kings’ evil aunt. I am
