I Welcome Your Rejection: Angel Kings’ Proud Mate novel Chapter 73

Ira’s Pov

“I feel weak, like the cave drains my strength,” I say to the angel walking by my side.

“It’s the spells. My powers are fading too,” he replies. “No spell should be working on you, unless it was cast using your father’s blood,” he adds.

He is right. I have the blood that breaks spells, so none should be able to bound me. Things would however be different if a Levitt’s blood was used to cast the spell.

Lysandra’s coven leads us towards another room inside the cave. There are many beds arranged in lines and closets on the side. But on left wall is a heavy door, locked with a dozen chains.

The coven leads us towards it. They open the locks and one steps inside.

“We finally caught your daughter and recovered the whisper trumpet. There is no longer a threat that stands between our mistress and her dream to rule all kingdoms. She will let you live if your daughter agrees to serve her for the rest of her life,” I hear the coven member say.

She is talking to my father? Who else could it be. I am a daughter of only one man.

“My daughter would only be committed to serving a good cause. But Lysandra is allowed to dream, of course,” his voice replies, filling me with great sense of relief.

Yes, he is alive! I haven’t lost all family. I am

Regardless of where we are, I am excited to be in his presence again. I may have found more love, three powerful mates, but my father’s love will always be extremely valuable. I would not have sacrificed so much for anyone else.

I make my way forward even before the coven members say anything to allow us in. King Adon follows.

The room is well lit with candles. A table chair at one corner, and face I haven’t seen in years stares back at me from the slim bed on the opposite side.

He hasn’t aged a day. He may look pale but not older. His hands have several scars, a sign that the witch and her coven have been drain lot’s of his blood. If I ever get a chance, I will kill them all.

“Dad!” I say in both anger and relief, before rushing forward to hug him.

“I had hoped that you could hide forever, but I bet you missed me more than you feared them,” he whispers in my ear.

He is disappointed. That I chose to find him instead of hide. But what kind of life would I have lived in hiding? “I chose to fight back,” I correct.

“It’s too late for that. We never stood a chance. You would have been better of if you changed your name and found a good place to move on. Now you will live in a cell while Lysandra drains your precious blood for as long as you will survive,” he argues in a sad tone.

The coven shuts the door behind us and I hear all the twelve locks click into place.

“They used your blood to cast the spells?” Adon asks.

“Yes. I cannot do anything about it.”

Of course he can’t do anything. We are all helpless for now.

The door suddenly opens once more. A smiling Lysandra steps inside, flanked by two coven members, then two familiar figures whose faces makes us gape in shock.

One of the figures is Lior, my close friend. The other is… another me?!

I am baffled by Lior’s presence here. But I am more dumbfounded by the figure that stands beside him. A woman with a face and hair the same as mines. Her smirk is evil.

“Meet my newest followers. Sir Rothnia needs no introduction, but I imagine that you were under the delusion that he was loyal to you. Unlike you I know how to test loyalty. Sir Rothnia just made a great sacrifice to earn my trust and be part of my army. He sacrificed his own mate in my name,” Lysandra informs.

He sacrificed Linda?!
