Nicolas said this to distance himself from Zoya, given that carlier at the restaurant, she had pointed a spoon at Wren’s neck, clearly offending him.
On the other hand, both Bluesky Technology and his company were vying for the Richmond family’s investment in drones, making them competitors.
By implying Bluesky Technology was unreliable and spreading false information, he was effectively eliminating a rival.
Zoya watched Nicolas coldly. After three years of marriage, where she had tirelessly worked for his company, all she got was being called an “ordinary employee.”
“Is that so?” Wren said indifferently, showing no emotion.
At that moment, Jasmine spoke up. “Ms. Sanford, I know you’re friends with Zoya and want her to make a good impression on Mr. Richmond, but there’s no need to fabricate stories about her identity.”
“Fabricate? When Zoya was researching drones, you were probably still playing with plane models!” Eowyn retorted irritably.
“Does she have any drone–related patents or completed projects?” Jasmine shot back.
Eowyn opened her mouth but couldn’t say anything.
After all, Zoya’s drone research had been conducted in the military, involving confidentiality agreements, so she couldn’t just blurt it out.
“So, nothing then?” Jasmine arched an eyebrow. “If you’re gonna lie, at least pick the right damn time.”
People close to the Ingram family started laughing.
Eowyn was furious, but Zoya calmly said, “Whether it’s fabrication or not, time will tell.”
“Stubbornness will only lead to trouble sooner or later,” Jasmine mocked.
At that moment, someone led in a jet–black horse with white hooves.
“Mr. Richmond, this is the horse the Ingram family is gifting you. Though spirited, it’s been professionally tamed,” Gordon flattered, “Would you like to take a ride?”
However, Wren just casually looked at the horse, showing no intention of riding it.
The atmosphere suddenly got pretty awkward.
“How about I take a ride on this horse for Mr. Richmond?” Jasmine chimed in, eager to show off.
After all, if Zoya managed to leave an impression on Wren by flaunting herself at the restaurant last time, then she could definitely do the same to make him remember her now.
Gordon quickly chimed in, “Sounds great! Jasmine, go ahead and take a few laps. She’s got some serious riding skills–she even has an international equestrian certification.”
With Wren not objecting, Jasmine leaped onto the black stallion’s back, kicked her heels into its sides, and galloped off. Seeing this, the folks close to the Ingram family couldn’t help but praise her.
“Ms Ingram really lives up to her family name! Not only can she fly planes, but her horse riding is superb, too.”

“With her skills, she could compete in tournaments.”
“With such a dashing presence, she’d be a general in wartime.”

Eowyn muttered to Zoya, “Pfft, what ‘general‘? Jasmine’s just a show–off with some fancy moves!”
After all, Eowyn had seen what real confident women looked like on horseback.
Nicolas, possibly hearing this, walked over and said, “Jasmine is a truly free–spirited, straightforward, and independent
woman.
“Unlike you, she doesn’t waste time belittling others. Zoya, instead of having your friend trash–talk Jasmine, why not focus on improving yourself?”
“All I know is, truly free and independent women wouldn’t flirt with married men,” Zoya shot back without hesitation.
Nicolas got angry, but with so many guests around, he had to hold back.
By now, Jasmine felt she’d shown off enough on the horse and started heading back.
As she neared the crowd, she pulled the reins, trying to slow the horse down.
But the horse didn’t stop–it just sped up!
“Yes, I would save anyone else, too,” Zoya said without hesitation.
Wren was slightly stunned.
At that moment, Zoya added impatiently, “If you’re not hurt, get off me.”
His eyes flickered. Few dared to be so impatient with him.
As he still didn’t move, Zoya pushed Wren off and stood up.

Not far away, the black horse was still wildly running in circles, while Jasmine on its back screamed continuously, “Help! Ah! Help! Stop the horse!”
But no one dared to step up and stop the horse now.
Jasmine didn’t hold on for long; the reins slipped from her hands, and the black horse leaped again. Jasmine lost her balance and fell off the horse.
Luckily, she landed on soft grass.
Even so, she cried out in pain.
Nicolas rushed over quickly, worried. “Hang in there. The staff here already ran to get help. They’ll carry you to the hospital
soon.”
Suddenly, Eowyn’s voice rang out. “Zoe, watch out!”
Nicolas was shocked, looking up towards Zoya. The black horse was galloping straight at her.
He instinctively stood up, wanting to run towards Zoya.
But Jasmine suddenly grabbed his hand, “Nicolas, I’m in so much pain!”
That cry made him stop in his tracks.
In the blink of an eye, the black horse was already in front of Zoya.
A malicious gleam flashed in Jasmine’s eyes. Now that she was in such a mess, she was taking Zoya with her, and she was gonna make sure Zoya looked ten times worse.
Everyone gasped in shock. As Zoya hadn’t moved an inch, they all figured she was totally stunned.
Just as everyone thought the next moment would see Zoya trampled under the horse’s hooves, she quickly grabbed the reins and leaped onto the horse’s back.
