Lady Warrior's Warth on Divorce Day novel Chapter 179

Chapter 179

Wren stiffened, his voice trembling a little. “When did you wake up?”

“When you were talking to yourself while holding that photo,” Zoya said as she sat up and looked at him, “What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well?”

“No,” he replied.

The next moment, she pulled him onto the couch and placed her palm on his forehead, “Your temperature’s normal, but you really don’t look so great.”

“It’s probably just work. I have been busy at the company these last couple of days and haven’t been sleeping well,” Wren made up an excuse.

“By the way, what were you muttering to yourself about over that photo?” Zoya asked.

Wren studied her face, searching for any reaction.

She clearly hadn’t caught what he’d said. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have asked.

“Just hoping we’d find your brother soon,” he replied.

“Thanks,” Zoya said, knowing he’d even brought in the Richmond family’s resources to help her with the

search.

“He’s your brother. It’s the least I can do,” he said, pushing down a wave of guilt inside him.

If he had actually done something to help her brother back then, maybe Zoya and her brother would’ve been reunited long ago.

“Okay, if you’re tired, you should go back and get some rest,” Zoya said. She was about to get up, only for Wren to suddenly grab her arm.

“Can you kiss me?” he asked out of nowhere.

“What?” Zoya was stunned. She thought that she must’ve heard wrong.

“Kiss me. If you do, I swear I’ll feel better,” Wren said.

Zoya let out a helpless laugh, shaking her head. ‘Honestly, is there anyone else on earth like him?’ she thought.

Still, Zoya reached up, hooked her fingers under Wren’s chin, and said confidently, “Alright.”

As soon as the words left her lips, her mouth pressed against his.

He let out a low sigh, parting his lips as if inviting her to go deeper.

She kissed him gently, while his left arm wrapped around her waist and his right hand slowly cradled the back of her head, pulling her even closer.

Just as Zoya was about to pull away, Wren suddenly took control, deepening the kiss with a sudden, fierce intensity.

He kissed her fiercely, as if he was desperate to consume her entirely.

Zoya murmured softly, struggling a little as she tried to break away.

But Wren only grew more insistent, deepening the kiss with even greater intensity.

She knew that if she truly tried, she could easily push him off.

But the ache of longing in his kiss left her powerless to do it.

After what felt like forever, he finally broke the kiss, his breathing heavy as he leaned in close to her ear and whispered, “Zoya, please don’t abandon me.”

“You fool, how could I ever abandon you?” she replied with a soft laugh.

His lips pressed together in a tight line. “Yeah, how could you not want me? No one in this world could ever love you more than I do.”

After an all-night marathon, Zoya and Eowyn hit the bidding meeting the next day. Eowyn gave Zoya a sly grin when she noticed Zoya rocking a turtleneck. “Let me guess. last night got pretty heated?”

Zoya’s cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

In bed, Wren was like a starving beast. No matter how much she gave, he was never satisfied. Sometimes she honestly wondered if he was on something.

She thought, ‘Even with my stamina, I was on the verge of falling apart. If it were anyone else…

‘But there is no one else. Wren has told me that I am his first.’

“Is it true that when a guy first gets a taste of sex, he just can’t seem to get enough?” Zoya blurted out to Eowyn.

“Pretty much,” Eowyn replied while recalling her past with Leon. After their first time together, he was absolutely unstoppable.

She thought, ‘No matter how straight-laced and restrained Leon looked on the outside, behind closed doors, he was an absolute beast. Wait a second!’

Eowyn suddenly shot Zoya a shocked look. “No way. Don’t tell me Wren’s never been with a woman before…”

Seeing Zoya’s nod, Eowyn swallowed hard.

Eowyn thought, ‘Wow, so he really is a first-timer.

‘For real? A guy like Wren has had no women before Zoya? He’s way more wholesome than I ever gave him

credit for.

‘Nobody would buy that!’

“You’ve really got your hands full,” Eowyn said, giving Zoya a sympathetic pat on the shoulder.

Zoya couldn’t help but laugh at her action.

“Hey, once we’re done here, tag along with me to the church,” Eowyn said.

“What are you going to the church for?” Zoya asked.

“Gonna pray a little and chase away all this bad luck,” Eowyn replied.

In just a short time, she’d bumped into Leon three times. She’d happened to be with Harvey during two of those times. She felt like bad luck was glued to her.

Eowyn picked one of the most famous churchs in Ranard City.

Zoya was standing with Eowyn in front of the main hall and praying when a sharp voice suddenly rang out. “Zoya, why are you here?”

Zoya turned and saw Violette and Anica.

“Anyone can come here. Why can’t I?” Zoya shot back.

Violette sneered at Zoya, “You are praying? Bet you’ve got a whole laundry list of sins weighing on your conscience. You’ve done so many bad things. No wonder you can’t find your brother. Karma’s a bitch!”

“Violetta, you really gonna say that out loud?” Eowyn shot back, her tone sharp with outrage.

“She’s telling the truth. If Zoya wasn’t, how come her brother’s still missing after all these years?” Anica fired back, backing Violetta up.

Eowyn looked ready to unload, but Zoya quickly pulled her back.

Zoya’s eyes went ice-cold as she strode right up to Violette. “What did you say? Say it again.”

Violette cocked her chin defiantly. “Sure, I’ll repeat myself as many times as you want. You’ve done a ton of bad things, so of course you can’t find your brother. That’s karma. Not even God is gonna help you!”

Before Violette could even finish her sentence, Zoya kicked Violette’s knee.

Violette crashed to the floor, forced onto both knees, landing right at Zoya’s feet.

Violette yelped in pain, trying to scramble back up, but Zoya slammed a hand down on her shoulder, pinning her in place.

Zoya’s hand looked thin, yet Violette felt like she had a mountain pressing down on her. She struggled again and again, but couldn’t budge an inch.

“Zoya, how dare you lay a hand on my daughter!” Anica shrieked, lunging at Zoya. However, Eowyn grabbed Anica by the arm and yanked her back.

“Your daughter deserves this. She’s gonna get what’s coming to her!” Eowyn shot back.

Anica started clawing at Eowyn. Eowyn wasn’t about to back down. She went right at Anica, and the two ended up in an all-out catfight.

Violette panicked. “Zoya, let me go!”

Zoya fixed her with a steely glare. “I want you down on your knees right now in front of God and apologize for your sins!”

“Why should I?” Violette shot back, her face twisted with anger.

Zoya’s voice cut through the air, cold and fierce. “Because I’m from the Lucero family that bleeds loyalty and sacrifice. My ancestors gave everything for this country, my parents died in service, and my brother disappeared fighting for our nation.

“I am proud of every damn thing I’ve ever done. You wanna accuse me of committing sins? Alright, spell it out for everyone here. What exactly have I done?”

Her words struck hard, ringing with strength, yet underneath, people could hear the heartbreak.

There were many loyal souls in her family, but now she was the last one standing.

The tourists who’d been about to step in and break things up all froze in place, stunned by what they were hearing.
