Chapter 84
Wren stiffened, staring blankly at his so-called father.

He was dressed in a well-tailored black suit and a white shirt. His facial contours, similar to Wren’s, constantly reminded him that the man before him shared his blood.
Ever since his mother’s death, his father, Logan Richmond, had always worn only black and white clothes, as if all other colors had become estranged from him.
“What’s wrong? Are you so surprised to see me?” Logan slowly walked up to his son, a gentle smile playing on his lips as he spoke.
The smile looked elegant and gentle, but in Wren’s eyes, it was like a venomous snake flicking its tongue, sending a chill down his spine.
Even though on the surface, his father still seemed like a normal person, Wren knew very well that after his mother’s death, his father had already gone mad.
“What are you doing here?” Wren said coldly.
“My son has a woman he loves, so of course, I had to come and show some concern,” Logan said with a leisurely smile.
Wren’s thin lips pressed together. Although he had already arranged for the trending topic to be removed this morning, there was still a time lag.
Apparently, Logan saw the trending topic.
Wren didn’t know what kind of feeling could be called love, but he was very clear that he wanted Zoya to stay by his side.
Looking at his silent son, Logan suddenly asked, “What? Do you think you haven’t fallen in love with her?”
Wren glared at his father. “Whether I love her or not is none of your business, but if you dare to lay a hand on her, I won’t let you off.”
Logan suddenly laughed, “Of course, I won’t lay a hand on her. After all, I still want to see what ending awaits my son with her.”
The woman he spoke of was naturally Wren’s mother.
As Logan spoke, he raised his hand and gently patted his son’s shoulder. “You can rest
assured.

“Even if you haven’t fallen in love with her now, as long as you have the thought of wanting that woman, you will sooner or later.”
He added, “And once you fall in love, you’ll understand how I feel.
“You’ll want that woman by your side, and if her eyes can’t only see you, you’ll want to destroy everyone around her, even imprison her, so she can only see you.”
Logan’s voice kept echoing in Wren’s ears.
Wren looked at the person in front of him with disgust. “I am not you, so I will never be like you.”
Logan’s face was full of mockery. “You are my son.
“The Richmond family’s obsession is ingrained in our bones, so you will also end up like me, longing for what you can’t have, and eventually becoming a madman.”
“Enough,” Wren suddenly snapped. “If that’s all you have to say, then get out.”
Logan shrugged. “But from the photos trending online, she doesn’t seem to love you. It looks like it won’t be easy for you to win her over, but—”
Logan’s voice trailed off, and his fingers caressed Wren’s face. “Your face blends my mother’s best features, especially your eyes, which strongly resemble hers.
and your
“Use those eyes and your body to properly tempt that woman, and she’ll surely be captivated by you.”
The next moment, Logan’s expression shifted slightly as Wren’s fingers clamped around his wrist.
With a single squeeze, Wren could break Logan’s wrist.
“I was merely giving you fatherly advice not to waste your looks and body, yet you’re trying to break my hand?” Logan raised an eyebrow.
“I’m no longer the child you can manipulate at will. So if you don’t get out now, I’ll break your hand,” Wren said coldly.
“Alright, since that’s the case, I’ll be leaving now,” Logan said with a smile. But before he left, he dropped another line, “Wren, my dear son, I’m waiting for you.”
No matter how much Wren denied it, he was still Logan’s son, so his ultimate fate would surely be similar to Logan’s.

In the hell named suffering, Logan waited for his son to face the same ending as him.
After all, the Richmond family members must endure the pain of yearning for what they could not have.
Wren remained silent, staring intently at his father’s departing figure.
Even though the terrifying figure was no longer in his sight, his body remained tense, his hands, hanging by his sides, were clenched tightly into fists, fingernails digging deep into his palms.
When Zoya returned to the villa, it started to rain.
The gloomy sky, accompanied by the drizzling rain, created an uncomfortable feeling.
Harvey was also returning to Ranard City. And she still didn’t know how long she would stay in Marabotara.
Her parents’ assets had almost all been handled, except for an old house in town that still needed paperwork.
Zoya would decide how to handle these assets with her brother after she found him.
She still kept all the things her parents once used in the house in the city.
Sometimes, returning to that house and seeing the familiar furnishings from her teenage years, it felt as if she was back in a time when her parents and brother were still alive, a happy and content family of four.
Then, her eyes would involuntarily redden.
Zoya knew better than anyone that for life to be peaceful, someone always had to bear a heavy burden and sacrifice for that tranquility.
Her parents would not regret their sacrifice, because it was their conviction.
And Zoya would continue to follow this path of conviction, without regret.
Harvey’s car stopped outside Wren’s villa.
“Alright, this is far enough,” Zoya said to Harvey.
Harvey looked deeply at Zoya, then took an umbrella and handed it to her. “Alright, go on in. See you in Ranard City.”

“It’s not raining heavily outside; I can just run a few steps to the house. If you lend me this umbrella, it’ll be inconvenient for me to return it,” Zoya said, wanting to return the umbrella
to Harvey.
But Harvey said, “Then return it to me when we meet back in Ranard City. Just hold onto this umbrella for me for now.”
“Alright,” Zoya agreed.
A smile touched Harvey’s lips.
Zoya got out of the car with the umbrella, and after watching the car drive away, she turned
and walked into the villa.
But just as she was about to enter the main house, her steps suddenly paused.
Not far away, a tall figure stood under a large tree in the courtyard, drenched in the rain.
The man’s head was slightly raised, and rain lashed down on his face, neck, and body.
His hair clung to his cheeks, and his white shirt, already soaked through, clung wetly to his body.
“Wren, why are you standing here?” Zoya asked in surprise.
Wren slowly turned his head, his charming eyes fixed on her. His thin, pale lips slowly parted. “You’re back?”
