Mated To The Alpha King (Raven and Ethan) novel Chapter 301

**TITLE: No More**

**Chapter 301**

**Reven’s POV**

The world around me felt like a chaotic blur, a strange dance of rapid motion and agonizing slowness all at once. The frightened whimpers of the children pierced through the air, but my legs felt like lead, refusing to move.

I stood frozen, my gaze transfixed on the crimson droplets cascading from Ethan’s hand, vivid and stark against the unforgiving pavement beneath us.

The bat handler knelt beside him, visibly trembling, his voice quaking with desperation. “I-I’m so sorry, sir! It wasn’t meant to get this close! I swear, it wasn’t supposed to happen like this!”

“Move back,” Ethan gritted out through clenched teeth, his jaw tight and his breaths coming in ragged gasps. “Get my kids away from here.”

His kids.

Hearing him claim that title with such fierce conviction sent a jolt through me, tugging at buried emotions I had tried to suppress for months.

Lucian erupted into tears, his small body shaking with fear. Lyra rushed to my side, her tiny hands clutching my gown as if it were a lifeline, her body trembling violently against mine. Zara, wide-eyed and terrified, hid behind Ethan’s wheelchair, peeking out like a rabbit caught in a snare, the world around her transformed into a nightmarish landscape.

“Mommy, what’s happening to Daddy?” Zara’s voice wavered, breaking as she pointed at the blood seeping from Ethan’s hand, her innocence laced with confusion and fear.

I forced myself to kneel beside them, gathering them close to me, despite every fiber of my being urging me to rush to Ethan’s side. “He’s fine,” I whispered, my voice steady yet strained, as I wrapped my arms around them. “Daddy is okay… he’s just hurt a little.”

But as the words left my lips, my eyes remained glued to him.

Ethan was struggling to apply pressure to the wound, his fingers trembling as the blood continued to seep through.

His breaths were labored, his skin taking on an unnerving pallor, and those usually sharp, commanding eyes of his were beginning to lose their focus, clouded by something darker.

Something was terribly wrong.

“Reven…” he called my name softly, so faintly that I almost thought it was a figment of my imagination.

I snapped my head up, my heart racing as I looked at him.

He was no longer gazing at the kids.

His attention was solely on me.

In his eyes, I didn’t just see pain; I saw a deep, gnawing fear.

A fear he was desperately trying to mask.

The kind of fear that made my own heart twist violently in my chest.

Without thinking, I sprang to my feet. “Ethan!”

Before I could reach him, he swayed precariously in his wheelchair.

Time seemed to stretch indefinitely. The chair jerked as he fought to regain his balance, and the security guards lunged forward, their movements frantic.

“Ethan!” I cried out, instinctively taking a step closer, my hand reaching toward him.

But he raised his good hand, halting me. “Stay with the kids,” he murmured hoarsely, his voice barely above a whisper. “Don’t leave them.”

His voice cracked, breaking my heart further.

The children were wailing now, their cries drawing the attention of everyone around us. People stared, some whispering, others pointing, but I barely registered any of it. My entire focus was on Ethan and the desperate way he clung to consciousness.

“Call for medical help, quick!” one of the security guards shouted, urgency lacing his tone.

Another guard attempted to wrap a cloth around Ethan’s bleeding hand, but the bat handler stuttered, “It was declawed—it shouldn’t have done this; it’s not poisonous!”

Ethan’s head drooped forward, and in that moment, I felt my heart stop.

“Ethan!”
