Sylvara's Rebirth: A New Dawn for Abel novel Chapter 54

**Chapter 54: Invasion**

“Given that she sent this to you, it clearly indicates that she has willingly acknowledged that marriage. You have no grounds to seek a divorce.”

Agares’s hand fell limply to his side, his fingers curling slightly as if trying to grasp at something intangible.

He had lost his composure, and it was evident.

Far too much.

Clearing his throat, he made an effort to wipe away the last remnants of embarrassment that clung to his face like a stubborn shadow. With a voice that was as expressionless as a stone, he stated, “Regardless of her willingness, my capacity for fatherhood is nonexistent. I cannot take away her right to experience motherhood.”

Relos felt a surge of frustration boiling within him, nearly exploding. “What do you mean you’re depriving her of motherhood? Maybe she doesn’t even want to be a mother—maybe all she desires is you, Agares!”

Agares’s ears flushed an even deeper shade of red, and his voice turned icier. “Your Majesty, the staggering 98% annual divorce rate in the Empire is primarily due to issues surrounding children. We needn’t deceive ourselves.”

This brat.

If only Relos had the physical advantage, he would have gladly given him a piece of his mind right then and there.

Taking a deep breath, he shoved the note back into Agares’s hand while his other hand reached for the plate of lemon chicken. Abruptly, he changed the subject, “Agares, did you know that lemon chicken has taken the entire Starnet by storm over the last two hours?”

“People online are speculating it was created by a student or a teacher from the Fifth Military Academy. And now—this very plate is right in front of you. What does that suggest to you?”

Agares’s sharp, obsidian gaze intensified, and the note in his hand felt scalding, almost slipping from his grip. “Your Majesty, you mean—”

He had been so taken aback by that single “honey”—so rattled by that “love and kisses”—that he had momentarily lost his ability to think clearly.

Relos nodded emphatically. “Your new wife has access to lemons. She can cook with them. This alone signifies she is knowledgeable about the Level-7 Plant Healer.”

“And the fact that she sent all this to you further indicates she genuinely cares for you and wishes to help heal your genetic breakdown. Once that issue is addressed, your fertility value could very well improve.”

Agares’s voice was as chilling as a bucket of ice water thrown over him. “There is no scientific evidence supporting the notion that treating a genetic breakdown enhances fertility value.”

“Even if Sylvara is acquainted with the Plant Healer, she could very well become a healer herself. The possibilities are limitless. She wouldn’t need a husband with a fertility value of zero.”
