The Contract Said No Strings Attached (Charlotte) novel Chapter 477

Mrs. Austin marched forward, voice sharp and eyes blazing. “What’s so special about Rebecca? Why are you getting so close to her? Your priority right now is to find yourself a decent woman—someone who can give you a child and secure an heir for the Austin Group!”

The moment Mrs. Austin brought up children, Dylan felt a wave of irritation.

He knew she had misunderstood. He wasn’t going to see Rebecca; he was after Raina. But he had no intention of explaining himself to Mrs. Austin.

As far as he was concerned, there was no point. Any explanation would just be a waste of time.

He needed to act fast if he had any hope of saving Raina.

“Mom, I don’t have time to argue with you right now. I have things to do,” he said curtly, already turning away. “I’m leaving.”

With that, Dylan hurried to his car.

A moment later, the black sedan tore off down the street, kicking up a gust of wind in its wake.

What? Argue?

Mrs. Austin’s chest burned with anger, as if a fire had been lit inside her.

She’d just said something of utmost importance, and her son brushed her off—as if she were just picking a fight?

Garcia stood off to the side, rattled and wide-eyed.

For a split second, she thought Dylan might have found out the truth. Thankfully, he hadn’t pressed the issue.

But that meant Rebecca got lucky...

Please, let Dylan not find her.

Dylan sped down the road, chasing in the direction Lionel had gone.

Just as his nerves were stretched to the breaking point, his phone suddenly rang.

He glanced at the screen—it was one of his men.

He answered immediately. “Mr. Austin, we’ve followed your orders. The entire city is on lockdown. We’ve tracked Lionel’s car heading out toward the outskirts.”

“Good. Keep me posted,” Dylan replied briskly.
