Dylan fell into deep thought.
It was true. As a married man, he had never once returned home. It was inexcusable.
Thinking about it, Dylan felt even more strongly that he needed to go to Sunset Villa Estates.
He also needed to get to the bottom of what Gordon had said earlier.
Dennis excitedly started the car, driving Dylan toward Sunset Villa Estates.
Dylan had been to this place before, but ever since Rebecca moved in, he had given her space and never returned.
Soon, Dennis drove the car to the entrance of Sunset Villa Estates.
However, their car was stopped.
Security at Sunset Villa Estates had been tightened, and no unfamiliar vehicles were allowed in or out.
Dennis got out and explained to the guard, “Take a good look. I’m Mr. Austin’s assistant, Dennis. How can you call me a stranger? Does this car look like an unfamiliar vehicle to you?”
But these guards were newly hired by Berton and had no idea who Dennis was.
“I don’t know you. In any case, the madam gave orders that no one is allowed into Sunset Villa Estates. If you want to see her, I’ll have to go inside and announce you.”
Dennis’s face turned green. What? His boss needed to be announced just to see his own wife in his own home?
Dylan, sitting in the back, heard the argument. “What’s going on?” he asked.
Dennis hurried over and relayed the guard’s words to Dylan.
Dylan’s face darkened as well. He hadn’t expected to be barred from his own property.
Still, he controlled his temper and said, “Then let him announce us.”
“Yes, sir.”
Dennis jogged back over and told the guard to quickly inform Rebecca.
