The Pack's Luna: The Pack Series Book 4 novel Chapter 355

Henry

While meeting with Alpha Nevaeh, I fill her in on what’s happening with Piper’s family.

“I’m not sure how much that will impact her here at the Academy, and I know she’s probably already distracted because of our mate bond, but if you see her slipping and there’s anything I can do, please let me know. She has a lot going on and I want to support her in any way I can.”

“Thank you, Alpha. I’m sure it’s difficult for both of you being separated so much. May I ask if that’s the reason you haven’t completed the mate bond yet?” she asks.

It is. It’s hard enough being separated for a couple of days at a time, but both our wolves said it would be harder for them if we marked each other.”

“I know this situation is different, with you having a pack to run, but we are willing to make accommodations here for mates. Obviously, Alphas Yorick and Cyra are a good example, and Raptor and Tracker are another example of the Academy making accommodations for individuals who have found their mates after beginning the Academy,” she says.

“Depending on what happens in the next few months, l may take you up on that, Alpha. I can do some of my work here and if it means only being away from Piper for a day and a half instead of two and a half days, that would makeit easier.”

“! also know that Alpha Michael has spoken to the leaders of our elite squads. I believe he was planning to talk to Alpha Piper today and have a meeting before she left for the weekend. However, with Alpha and Beta Squads being dispatched last night, I believe he’s planning to move the meeting with the four of them to early next week,” she says.

“Hopefully, that means he has some good news for her. I know it’s important for her to continue her training. She’s worked hard to get where she is, and I truly want to support that.”

“I can see that. Not all Alphas would be as accepting as you are that their Luna wanted to be an elite fighter rather than a Luna,” she says.

I shrug. “I’ve waited a long time to find Piper. It’s worth it to me to wait a little while longer to start a family while she follows her dreams.”

She smiles. “I’m glad she found you. Alpha Piper is an amazing woman. It’s good to know that the Moon Goddess blessed her with an equally amazing mate.”

“I don’t know about that, but I do know that I’m grateful every day that Piper is in my life.”

“Well, I have everything I need here. Why don’t I walk you out. I’m assuming you’d like to say goodbye to your mate before you leave?”

“I absolutely would. And again, if there are any problems at all, please let me know.”

When we walk outside, I watch my mate sparring. Even as exhausted as I know she is, she’s incredible.

She must feel my pride because she suddenly looks over at me, distracted. Thankfully, Chase pulls his punch and doesn’t hit her.

“Geez, Piper! Warn a guy next time,” he growls.

“Sorry, Chase,” she says, before jogging over to me.”

You’re leaving?”

“fam.”

“Everything is set financially, Alpha Piper,” Alpha Nevaeh says before walking to the class.

“Thanks, Henry.”

“That’s what mates do. I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“See you tomorrow.”

“Get some sleep tonight. Call me when you’re in bed.”

“I will.” Because I can and because I don’t care who sees how much I love this woman, I pull her to me and kiss her with all the love, passion, and admiration I have for her. I kiss her until she’s whimpering and clinging to me, before finally releasing her.”Take care of my mate,” I say.

“You take care of mine. I love you.”

“Love you, too.

I watch her jog back to Chase before heading to my car. I pull up the number Hacker called me from yesterday before starting back to my pack.

“Alpha Henry?”

“Hacker, tell what you have on the person who wanted to buy my mate,” | growl.

“Ahh. Well, I don’t have much, which is why I didn’t say anything. But we found some phone calls from Alpha Glenn to another Alpha. I don’t want to mention any names until we know for sure, but Hijack is working on the phone angle and I’m searching for anything that would tie this Alpha to Piper. As soon as we have anything concrete, we’ll contact you and Alpha Piper.”

“Thanks, Hacker,” I say before hanging up.

An Alpha. I shouldn’t be surprised, but I don’t like knowing that there is another threat to Piper out there. I’m thankful I’ll get things handled with Justine this weekend and then I can focus solely on Piper, her family, and this threat against her.
