Wake Up Leave The Liar novel Chapter 128

Chapter 106

Ethan asked, Zark? Busy?”

Zark replied, “No.”

Ethan said, “Oh… you’re back Tuesday?”

Zark paused. “Mm-hmm.” He added,”Gotta go.”

“Okay. Let me know when you’re back. I’ll pick you up to check on Tanya.”

“Okay.”

The next day, Ashley went for a run, had breakfast, and left for the lawyer’s office.

Tim was already waiting for her. She gave the divorce agreement to Mr. Plunkett, the lawyer.

Tim leaned in as Mr. Plunkett reviewed it.

Checking the custody clause, Mr. Plunkett glanced at Ashley.

He’d met Sam several times. Ashley had doted on him so much that she would constantly talk about him.

But since deciding on the divorce and returning to Eternal, she hadn’t mentioned Sam again. He suspected Sam had bonded with Tanya and perhaps done something hurtful during his time abroad.

Seeing that Ashley only wanted the lawyer to check for loopholes in the asset division, not custody, Tim understood she was giving up her son. He didn’t ask why.

Ashley was kind and sentimental.

Giving up her son indicated deep disappointment.

He looked at the rest of the document.”So many properties. Chase is quite generous,” he remarked.

Ashley sipped her tea, saying nothing. Tim browsed the agreement, then joined Ashley, discussing her paper. They communicated in words that only they could understand. Mr. Plunkett’s assistant was bewildered, but Mr. Plunkett continued reviewing the agreement.

An hour later, Mr. Plunkett said, “The agreement is sound. It’s actually quite favorable to you.”

Ashley paused. “What do you mean?”

The cash is clear. The properties have no ownership disputes,” Mr. Plunkett explained.”Regarding the company shares, it clearly states you only receive dividends. In case of unforeseen circumstances, all legal liabilities and compensation fall solely on Mr. Sterling, not you.”

Tim’s eyes widened.”Are you sure? Is Chase really that considerate?”

Mr. Plunkett laughed. “Are you questioning my professionalism?”

Not really, Tim said, still shocked.

Ashley was unsurprised. Although Chase had been cold and unsupportive, she knew if he was giving her something, he’d ensure she had no worries about it. She knew he wouldn’t play tricks, she was just concerned about loopholes.

“Good,’ she said calmly, signing the agreement without hesitation.”Please handle the rest, Mr. Plunkett.”

‘I have a meeting. I’ll contact Mr. Sterling to proceed with the divorce.”

“Okay.”

They had lunch, then Ashley and Tim went to her place to work on their paper.

Meanwhile, at Sterling Corp, Chase received a call.

“Mr. Sterling, I’m Ms. Mond’s lawyer, Daniel Plunkett. She’s signed the agreement. She’s entrusted me to handle the rest. Are you available?”

Chase paused. “I have two video conferences this afternoon. Could you come to Sterling Corp tomorrow morning around 10 AM?”

Okay. Thank you for your cooperation.”

Chase continued reviewing documents.

Tim left in the evening. Ashley, planning to have dinner at Amanda’s, left with her bag. Sam called, likely to complain about the skiing trip. Ashley didn’t answer. Sam called twice more but finally stopped.
