Wake Up Leave The Liar novel Chapter 160

Chapter 138

What David said about Ashley was almost identical to Tim’s compliment in the gala, but Tanya thought David was simply praising Ashley out of admiration for Tim.

Seeing Ashley and her grandmother shine, Mary and the Monds looked uncomfortable. They hadn’t attended the previous gala and didn’t know about Tim’s compliment. Hearing what David said, Ruby pulled Tanya aside.”Is Ashley really that good?”

Tanya smiled dismissively. “No.” She recounted Tim’s words at the gala.”Ashley joined Eternal only a few months ago. How could Eternal’s success be attributed to her? Tim is genuinely smitten; that’s why he shares his achievements with her so readily.”

I see. I thought she was truly amazing.”

Tanya said flatly, “She’s just an undergraduate.”

Right. In every aspect-school, qualifications, everything-she’s far inferior to you. David’s praise made it sound like she’s even more accomplished

than Tim.”

Vivian’s expression turned cold again.

Chase returned, glancing at Ashley and Amanda before looking away. Tanya smiled. “Finished the call?”

“More calls might come later.”

“Overseas business?”

Yes.”

Zark’s gaze settled on Ashley, who wasn’t paying attention to Chase and Tanya. It seemed she truly didn’t care about Chase anymore.

The Holdens smiled. Even if Ashley impressed Vincent, it wouldn’t improve the Jones family’s situation. The Adlers wouldn’t pair Ashley with Matt.

After greeting the guests, Vincent retired to his private house. Ashley, Tim, Chase, Zark, the Monds, and the Holdens followed. The large number of guests made the Monds and Holdens seem unremarkable.

They settled in the courtyard and veranda.

The maids served them tea and refreshments. Vincent and Amanda were deep in conversation. Besides Amanda, Vincent had two other friends who were also accomplished painters. Inspired, they decided to paint collaboratively, inviting Amanda to join them. Vincent instructed Matt, “Matt, get the brushes, ink, paper, and ink-stone from my study.”

Afterward, Vincent praised Amanda’s painting.

Vincent and his friends began discussing painting techniques. Ashley and Tim didn’t interrupt but remained in the veranda, enjoying tea and refreshments.

They were far from the Monds and Holdens, avoiding eye contact. People who didn’t know them well would even think they were strangers to the Monds and Holdens.
