Wake Up Leave The Liar novel Chapter 380

Chapter 358

But his presence there didn’t seem to imply he wanted to join them or deliberately cause trouble.

He looked at Ashley, his tone familiar.”Out to eat with Mr. Green?”

Ashley: “Yep.”

You’ll be back in a bit, right?”

That’s right.”

She still had a few things to handle, so she needed to come back and finish up.

Gabriel nodded. “Alright, I’ll come find you later then.”

With that, he said no more. After a glance at Zark, he turned and left.

Zark knew Gabriel was just trying to provoke him.

He was basically saying, “You went through all that trouble just to get Ashley to go out with you, but I know everything about her. I have plenty of chances to spend time with her, and I’m not interested in playing little games to stop you two from getting together.

Zark wasn’t bothered or flustered by Gabriel’s taunts.

Right now, Ashley wasn’t really interested in either him or Gabriel.

So, he and Gabriel were pretty much in the same boat.

Honestly, if he had a choice, he’d rather Ashley was interested, even if it wasn’t in him….

Zark had already told Ashley that Betty had been picked up by her grandma a few days ago.

Thinking about how she hadn’t heard from Betty in a while, Ashley couldn’t help but ask once they arrived at the restaurant, “How’s Betty doing these

days?”

Hearing Ashley ask about Betty, Zark’s heart warmed.”She’s doing great,” he said.”She called a couple of days ago and mentioned how much she misses you, said she wanted to come back and play with you.”

Ashley smiled. That’d be nice.”

After a slight pause, Zark continued, “Speaking of Betty, I heard Sam’s training went really well this time. He’ll probably win a prize at the next

competition.”

Ashley hummed, looking down when he mentioned Sam. Before she could say anything else, the private room door suddenly swung open. “Zark!”

Zark heard the voice and his face instantly darkened.

Ashley’s expression, however, didn’t change at all.

When Catherine pushed open the door and saw Ashley there too, her eyes widened. “What are you doing here?”

Ashley didn’t say anything.

Zark looked at Catherine and said coldly, “Why are you in here?”

While Zark had always been distant towards her, this was truly the first time he had been so overtly cold.

Catherine was so stunned by Zark’s harsh tone she could barely stammer,”I, I…”

“Catherine, that’s rude.” Just then, Miranda and Mary walked over.

They were a bit surprised to see Ashley there too, but knowing Zark and Eternal still had a good working relationship, they didn’t think much of Zark and Ashley having dinner alone.

Mary smiled. “My apologies, Zark. Catherine was out of line. We shouldn’t have interrupted your meal.”

As elders, Mary and Miranda commanded respect, and Zark was willing to give them that.
