Chapter 372.

On Thursday, Ashley didn’t go with Sam to his out-of-state competition. Sam wasn’t mad; he just whined and asked Ashley to take him out to play after his competition and activities.
Unable to resist Sam’s pouting and pleading, Ashley agreed.
She had been swamped with work these past two or three days and hadn’t been to the hospital to see Emily.
On Friday morning, Ashley went to the hospital again.
Downstairs, she saw Tanya, her head bandaged, out for a stroll.
Tanya was on her phone, “I’m much better, Sam. You just focus on your competition out there. No need to worry too much about me.”
As soon as she finished speaking, she looked up, spotted Ashley, and her eyes just slid away, cold as ice.
Not sure what was said on the other end, but she continued, “Call me the second the results are out? Haha, yeah! I’ll be glued to my phone around then, definitely won’t miss your call. Your meet-up time is almost here, go link up with your teachers first. Go get ’em!”
It was actually barely 8 AM.
Sam, true to form, still called Tanya super early every day.
Ashley listened, her face expressionless, as she walked past Tanya and into the elevator.
Once she got to the room, Ashley found out Emily had found it too stuffy and had also gone downstairs for a walk.
Ashley set down the fresh flowers she was holding, turned, and headed back downstairs.
When she reached the hospital garden, Ashley spotted Vivian and Tanya.
She also spotted Emily.
But Emily wasn’t with them.
Emily probably had no idea Tanya was also in the hospital, and she didn’t even notice Tanya and Vivian.
Meanwhile, Vivian and Tanya were staring in Emily’s direction.
The moment they saw Ashley, Tanya and Vivian pulled their gaze away, turning to walk off in another direction.
It wasn’t until Ashley got closer that Emily noticed she was there.
A big smile immediately bloomed on Emily’s face.”Is that our Ashley?”
‘Grandma.”
Even though Tanya and Vivian had walked quite a distance away, the smile on Emily’s face was still crystal clear to them.
They had actually thought about going over to say hello to Emily earlier, but then they heard her illness this time was sudden, and she couldn’t handle any more stress. So, they decided against going to greet her.
Emily might adore Ashley, but Vivian wasn’t fazed.”I heard Emily can’t control Chase,” she commented. “No matter how much she likes her, Chase is still going to divorce her, right?”
By the same token, even if Emily didn’t like them, if Chase was dead set on marrying her daughter, Emily, no matter how mad she got, probably couldn’t stop him.
What’s more, Emily’s sudden illness this time? Rumor has it if she’d been like, ten or fifteen minutes later getting to the hospital, they wouldn’t have
been able to save her.
Emily was that sick, and Chase still didn’t say he’d stay married to Ashley for her sake.
And Emily didn’t even use her illness to strong-arm Chase into not getting divorced.
That just goes to show, Emily was cool with them getting divorced, or she was even already prepared for Chase to marry Tanya.
