Chapter 374.
Sunday afternoon, Sam called, saying he wanted to come over and see her. Remembering what she’d promised him before, Ashley agreed.
A driver brought him.
As soon as Sam got out of the car, he excitedly ran and threw himself into Ashley’s arms.
After cuddling with Ashley and Amanda for a bit, Sam excitedly announced he’d won first place in his fencing competition.
He’d even brought his trophy in a little backpack, happily shoving it into Ashley’s hand.
Amanda watched, beaming, showering Sam with praise about how amazing and talented he was.
When it came to fencing, Ashley knew she hadn’t really contributed much to Sam’s journey.
And honestly, she probably wouldn’t be able to do much more for him in the future either.
She thought for a moment, then said, “How about Mommy takes you to get a nice frame for that trophy later?”
Sam said, “Oh, no need! Dad already had someone custom-make a frame for me even before the competition. It’s super cool!”
Sam had even taken pictures. Hearing Ashley mention it, he pulled out his phone and showed her the photo of the frame.”Isn’t it so pretty?”
Ashley glanced at it. Even from the photo, she could tell the custom frame Chase had gotten for Sam was seriously high-end.
What’s more, Chase had secretly prepared the frame ahead of time. He really put a lot of thought into things for Sam.

Even though Sam already had a frame for his trophy, seeing Ashley value his win so much, and then hearing Ashley offer to buy him a frame, still made him incredibly happy.
That night, Sam stayed over at the Jones’ place.
The next morning, Ashley slipped some important documents into her bag. Sam saw them when he looked over, but he didn’t really get what they were, so he didn’t ask any questions.
Looking at the clear, innocent gaze in Sam’s pretty face, Ashley knew Chase still hadn’t told Sam about their divorce.
Ashley hesitated for a moment, then looked at Sam. Sam looked back at her, confused.”Mom? What’s up?”
Ashley didn’t want to complicate things. She thought about it and decided it was better to leave this for Chase to handle. “Nothing, honey. Mom’s… heading to work. Don’t go running wild at home, okay?”
‘Got it! Bye, Mom.”
Ashley nodded, then headed downstairs and left.
When she got to the County Superior Court, Chase was already waiting for her right at the entrance.
‘Morning.”
Ashley just gave a silent nod and walked into the County Superior Court with him.
After that, neither of them said much.
It didn’t take long; the paperwork was done in no time.
Once it was all done, Ashley stood up, ready to walk out, just as Chase’s phone buzzed.
Chase had stood up too, about to leave, but after glancing at the caller ID, he answered. His steps noticeably slowed.
Still, Ashley was ahead of him and could still hear him talking on the phone.
