Chapter 378.
Catherine was still fuming. A little after the plane took off, she asked the flight attendant for a drink.
Once the flight attendant walked away, she stared straight at Ashley, hid the drink behind her back, and walked right over.
Vivian had already guessed Catherine would pull something.
So, before Catherine even got close, Vivian noticed her.
Her brows furrowed, and she silently shook her head at Catherine.
But Catherine was too pissed off. No way was she backing down now.
Vivian’s expression hardened. She pulled out her phone and texted Catherine [Get back in your seat.]
Even though Vivian didn’t say a word, Catherine felt the undeniable weight of her tone through the text. It was a do it, or else kind of vibe.
Mary, who was sitting between Vivian and Catherine, saw it all unfold and immediately knew what Catherine was up to.
She gave Catherine’s hand a gentle pat, a clear sign to behave.
Catherine pouted, a scowl of pure reluctance plastered across her face.
But here, with the Mond family, Vivian and Tanya were the absolute authority.
She’d gotten used to doing what they said.
So, she bit her tongue, finally giving in. With one last dirty look at Ashley, she reluctantly turned and stomped back to her seat.
Sam hadn’t noticed any of it, completely oblivious to the little drama between Ashley and Catherine before takeoff.
The moment the plane touched down in Belfort and came to a stop, he practically launched himself towards Ashley. Mommy!
Hey there, Ashley murmured, gently stroking her son’s cheek. Were you a good boy on the flight
Sam beamed. Yep!
Vivian and Ashley were only separated by an aisle.
Seeing Sam come over to Ashley, Vivian tilted her head and glanced at the kid.
It wasn’t just her. Mary and Catherine, who were in front of her, and Miranda, who was behind her, all looked over at Sam.
While Sam was talking to Ashley, he also looked over at Vivian, their eyes meeting directly.
Vivian met Sam s gaze, then coldly looked away.
Sam had never met Vivian or Miranda before.
Out of the Holden and Mond families, Sam only knew Tanya and Catherine,

Seeing the obvious coldness in Vivian s eyes, Sam just figured she was a stranger and didn’t give it much thought. When he looked away, he caught Miranda’s eye bur didn’t pay any mind to it, even though he knew Miranda was watching him.
A little while later, Ashley and Steve grabbed their luggage and were the first to get off the plane.
After getting off the plane, Catherine watched Ashley and her family walk away, still seething over Ashley making her and her grandma trip. Aunt Vivian, Grandma, are we just gonna let her walk all over us Why should we! she fumed.
Vivian said, It’s just for a little while. She won’t be gloating for long.
Once Ashley and Chase officially divorced, they d have plenty of chances to make Ashley regret everything she d done today.
Ruby also softly tried to calm her down. Exactly. Besides, her reacting so strongly just proves that what you said hit a nerve, doesn’t it
Yeah, you’re right about that.
Hearing that, Catherine finally felt her mood lift. Thinking about Chase and Ashley officially divorcing soon, how Chase only had eyes for her sister, and how much pain Ashley must be in over all of this Catherine didn’t just feel better, she felt totally liberated. It was like a weight had been lifted off
The morning of the second day back in Belfort, Sam left the Jones’ place and went back to find Chase.
Ashley was back at her company. She’d just finished an important meeting when Tim, her business partner, leaned in close and whispered, Yesterday, both Speed and Mond Technology pumped hundreds of millions more into their investments.
Ashley paused at that, but her expression didn’t show an ounce of surprise.
After all, she’d already had a hunch when she’d heard Chase talking to Tanya on the phone that Monday, the day they went to the County Superior Court to finalize things.
That evening, Ashley and Tim went to a banquet. As soon as they entered the main hall, they spotted Tanya and Mark.
Chase wasn’t there, though.
Word must have gotten out that Chase had poured a lot of money into supporting Speed and Mond Technology, because a ton of guests in the banquet hall were practically falling over themselves to get to Tanya and Mark, eager to discuss potential collaborations.
