Wake Up Leave The Liar novel Chapter 407

Inside the elevator, seeing Jackson only press the button for his own floor, Chase suddenly spoke up.”No need to follow us.”

Jackson paused, then, understanding, said, “Got it.”

With that, he pressed the button for his own room’s floor.

The next morning.

Chase, wearing a bathrobe and carrying the clothes he wore last night, walked out of his room, closed the door, and headed towards the other side.

Tanya, just stepping out of the elevator, saw him and a smile immediately bloomed on her face. She was about to speak, but then her eyes caught sight of the distinct lipstick stains on the collar and shoulder of the shirt hanging over his elbow. Her smile vanished instantly.

The words died in her throat.

She stood there, still processing, as Chase’s figure disappeared around the corner. Immediately after, the sound of a door opening and closing echoed from nearby.

Tanya hadn’t even fully processed it when the room number right in front of her caught her eye.

2508

But she distinctly remembered Jackson telling her that Chase’s room was 2503.

She pulled out the spare key card for Chase’s room that she’d just gotten from Jackson.

Yep,2503. She hadn’t misremembered.

So why the hell did Chase come out of room 2508?

Tanya pressed her lips together, pulled out her phone, and called Jackson.”Who’s staying in 2508?”

Jackson paused, and though he had no idea how Tanya knew, he answered truthfully,”Ashley.”

Called it.

Tanya clenched her phone tight.

She took a deep breath before asking, “What happened these past two days?” If nothing had happened, why would Chase be coming out of Ashley’s room in a bathrobe early in the morning?

And holding the clothes he wore yesterday, no less.

Jackson hadn’t voluntarily told Tanya about last night, but since she was asking now, he gave her a general rundown of what went down.

After he finished, he added, “The boss didn’t ask me to follow him after we got back to the hotel last night. So, honestly, I have no idea what went down

between them.”

Tanya pressed her lips into a tight, grim line, saying nothing.

She hung up, stood rooted to the spot for a long moment, then finally started walking towards Chase’s room.

Meanwhile.

Ashley woke up with a pounding headache, her mind blank for a beat.

A moment later, the scene from the bar bathroom last night flashed through her memory,

Her face went pale. She was instantly wide awake.

Her face was chalk-white as she shot up from the bed. As she tried to remember what happened after the bathroom, her eyes scanned her surroundings, and she froze mid-motion, about to get out of bed.

This was her hotel room.

She paused, confused.

She thought she was dreaming.
