Chapter 390.
With Tim helping out, not having a laptop didn’t really hold things up much.

But then, that afternoon, something urgent popped up at Sterling Corp. Ashley needed to handle it ASAP, and suddenly, no laptop became a massive
pain.
Staring at the files Sterling Corp sent to her phone, Ashley started to regret turning down Chase’s laptop that morning.
But with the situation urgent…
Ashley turned and headed upstairs, pausing for two seconds outside Chase’s study door before finally knocking.
“Come in.”
Chase was busy at his desktop. As Ashley pushed the door open, he happened to look up toward the entrance.
Seeing it was her, he didn’t seem surprised. In fact, he spoke before Ashley could, “Need a laptop?”
Ashley stood in the doorway.”…Yeah.”
Chase smiled, pushing the laptop that was off to one side toward her, motioning for her to come get it.
Only then did Ashley walk in.
She didn’t glance around. She walked over to his desk, grabbed the laptop, and said, “Thanks.”
Chase just smiled, saying nothing.
Ashley didn’t say anything more. She took the laptop and turned to leave. As she walked out of the room, she heard him tell someone on the computer, “Go on,” realizing he was in a meeting.
Ashley went back to Sam’s room to handle her stuff.
Sam wanted her to play with him, but seeing Ashley so focused she didn’t even register what he was saying, he got a little bummed out.
Just then, Chase walked in. Sam hugged his pillow and couldn’t help but sigh,”Daddy, Mommy is so busy…”
Chase hummed in response, then turned and went into her room too. He pulled up a chair and sat down next to Ashley.
Ashley hadn’t even noticed Chase arrive. She heard the movement, glanced over, saw it was him, but didn’t say anything, just went back to her work.
As for what was on the computer, since it was related to Sterling Corp, even if Chase saw it, it wouldn’t be an issue.
Chase actually had his own things to do, but he watched with interest for a bit. When it was almost time, he gave one last, slightly regretful look before turning and leaving.
Ashley had a ton of stuff to do that day, she was still working late into the evening.
During dinner, she sat right next to Chase.
She said, ‘I still have a ton of stuff to handle tonight. Do you need the laptop?”
Nah, you go ahead and use it,”
‘Okay.”
They were getting along pretty well, and Emily was actually thrilled. She thought Ashley was too thin and kept bugging her to eat more.
After dinner, Ashley headed upstairs to keep grinding.
Chase didn’t bother her again, opting to stay downstairs and play with Sam.
Around nine at night, Sam finished his bath and was ready for bed. He saw Ashley still hustling, the keyboard clacking a bit loud, and suddenly remembered something.”Mom, why don’t you go back to your and Dad’s room to work?” he asked.
