Chapter 392.
No sooner had the housekeeper turned to leave than Chase returned with her phone from Sam’s room.
Taking the phone from his hand, Ashley didn’t look up at him, just said, “Thanks.”
Chase didn’t say anything.
Ashley got out of bed, intending to go to Sam’s room to get ready.
Chase seemed to catch her drift, standing there, watching her profile. He spoke first, “There’s a toothbrush and cup in here too.”
Ashley paused.
Since she was already back in this room to rest, washing up here didn’t seem like a big deal.
A second later, she turned and stepped into the bathroom in Chase’s room.
She was still brushing her teeth when Dr. Carter arrived.

After she finished washing up, Dr. Carter checked her pulse, asked about her condition in detail, and while setting up an IV drip for her, he gave Chase instructions on Ashley’s care.
Once Dr. Carter left the room, Chase brought over the porridge the butler had prepared for Ashley.
Ashley hesitated, then reached out and took it.”Thanks.”
“No problem.”
Ashley’s fever had spiked to 104 F, and she felt awful, with no appetite for food.
But she pushed through it, slowly eating.
Mid-slurp, she seemed to remember something. She turned her head towards Chase, who was watching her from a short distance, and her voice rasped, “Where’s Sam?”
Downstairs. Sam and your grandma are really worried about you, but kids have weak immune systems, and your grandma isn’t fully recovered yet. I didn’t want them to catch anything, so I kept them from coming up.”
“Got it.”
Ashley managed about half a bowl of porridge before she couldn’t take another bite.
Seeing how hard she was struggling, Chase didn’t push it. He took the bowl from her, then grabbed a tissue for her to wipe her mouth. “Just rest if you’re not feeling well. If the IV runs out, I’ll call Dr. Carter back up.”
“…Thanks.”
Chase didn’t say anything.
Even though Ashley was exhausted, before she drifted off, she still messaged Tim to update him on her situation.
Tim was pretty freaked out to hear she had a high fever. He quickly told her to get some serious rest and not to even think about work until she was
better.
Ashley put her phone down, exhausted, and was about to go to sleep when her gaze casually landed on Chase, who was sitting not far away, busy at his laptop.
After a quick glance, she looked away, closing her eyes to rest.
By the time she woke up again, two hours had already passed.
She was drenched in sweat, her clothes completely soaked.
The IV drip was finished at some point, and Chase was still in the room, keeping watch.
Seeing she was awake, he closed his laptop and walked over.”How are you feeling?”
