Wake Up Leave The Liar novel Chapter 415

Chapter 393.

Ashley took her temperature, forcing herself to stay awake for a while, but Chase never came back. Not long after, she drifted off, exhausted.

When she woke up again, opened her eyes, Chase was still sitting there, reading a book.

He saw her wake up, staring blankly in his direction, though her gaze wasn’t really on him. Chase got up, walked over, and touched her sweaty forehead. “What’s wrong?”

They hadn’t really had much physical contact in a long time.

Ashley wasn’t really used to his touch.

Even though Ashley knew he was just checking her temperature, she still pushed his hand away, shaking her head silently.

She was just surprised he was still around.

She’d thought he’d left the old house after taking that call earlier.

She’d broken into another heavy sweat, and now, finally, her fever seemed to be breaking.

Feeling sticky and gross, she changed into clean clothes again, ate some food, rested for a bit, then drifted back to sleep.

When she woke up again, it was already afternoon.

It wasn’t until then that her fever finally broke.

Chase was already gone from the room.

She was alone, and it was dead quiet.

Just then, her phone, sitting on the nightstand, buzzed with a message.

It was from Tim, asking how she was feeling.

Ashley chatted with Tim for a bit, but he had work to do, so they didn’t talk much.

She put her phone down, and the full scope of the room came into view.

She hadn’t paid much attention before, being sick and all. But now, fully awake, she realized Chase’s room hadn’t changed at all from how it used to be.

Like, her usual array of bottles and jars on the vanity they were all still there.

When she’d grabbed some fresh clothes earlier, she’d also noticed her clothes were still in the closet, neatly hung right alongside Chase’s.

“Something wrong?”

Hearing the voice, Ashley snapped out of her daze, realizing she hadn’t even noticed when Chase had re-entered the room.

She pulled her gaze back, shaking her head.”No, I’m fine. My fever broke.”

Chase grunted. “I know.”

Ashley paused, not saying anything else. Instead, she got out of bed, found some casual clothes in the closet, changed, grabbed her phone, and turned to

leave the room.

Chase watched her back.”Where are you going?”

Just getting some air.”

Chase heard her and didn’t say anything more.
