Maggie had honestly forgotten about Lindsay. But now that Lindsay had brought herself up, a faint memory started bubbling up in Maggie's mind.
It seemed that before Athena, there was indeed someone else they'd bullied, but Maggie had long forgotten who that person was.
Lindsay took a deep breath, "Athena and I, we're kindred spirits. My family has been struggling, and she helped me out, gave me some money. I told her I wanted to come to Greenfield to find work, and she brought me along. She didn't exactly hide me away; I just stayed home doing some crafts because I dropped out after high school. No degree, no connections, crafting's about all I can do to earn a buck."
Maggie was skeptical, but what else could Lindsay offer? Probably nothing. Lindsay's family was just too ordinary, and her parents had left long ago, leaving her with five kids whose fathers were a mystery.
Maggie felt a wave of disgust wash over her, especially seeing the simpleton squatting pathetically by the roadside. Her disdain deepened.
Just then, her brother stood up and asked, "When can I go back home?"
He was tired of Greenfield; it wasn't fun at all. More importantly, he'd upset his sister. Was she never going to want to see him again?
His face was a mix of anxiousness and frustration; he just wanted to go back home and look after the kids.
Maggie had been running around for so long and had come up with nothing. There was no way she was going to do her brother the favor of sending him home. So she pointed to the bustling traffic and said, "Why don't you walk into the road a bit? Maybe someone will give you a ride home. Look at all those cars; surely one of them is headed back to your hometown and might just take you along."
A flicker of excitement crossed his eyes—he believed her.
Maggie didn't bother with the simpleton anymore and couldn't be bothered to continue her conversation with Lindsay, so she left.
Meanwhile, Lindsay reached out to Tyler for help. Tyler immediately started trying to trace the recent phone number. But Maggie was clever; she tossed her phone as soon as she left and started using another one she’d swiped.

The readers' comments on the novel: Dear Ex-wife Marry Me novel (Maja)
Author, would you story about Ryan settling down and another story on Eric regaining his body and memories back from Patrick, and Eric also settling down as I find it so disheartening for him to have gone through what he went through at the research institute, and I'll like for him to get his "golden boy" life back though, not at the detriment of Ian....
When will the author update to finish Beck's story? What about Dylan and Tyler's love lives? Also, I'll like the author to write on Wilma and Elvis ending up together as she was quite persistent in pursuing him. And Shawn's story, Cornelia Sullivan and Omar Casson. Also, a little write-up on Jeff (Ian's assistant) love life, too. Thanks, author for updating....
When will get update?...
What is wrong that the author has not updated this novel in over a month or is there somewhere else that I can continue reading the novel from chapter 1951 upwards? Do tell, please. Thanks....
