From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 312

“My people found a lead, but it disappeared halfway through. Looks like someone covered their tracks.”

“But you know who’s behind all this, right?”

Eleanor nodded. “It has to be Jessie Goff. I can’t think of anyone else.”

Max agreed. He had planned to deal with Goff Inc., but with the Goff and Davidson families teaming up, taking them down would take some time.

“Just leave the rest to me. I’m not letting them get away with this.”

Eleanor pressed her lips together. “Thank you. Are you sure it’s not too much trouble?”

Max almost laughed. “You’re my wife. If I can’t do this for you, who am I supposed to do it for?”

“Do you want to visit Juliana?”

Eleanor hesitated for a moment. “No.”

“How long is she going to be locked up?”

Max let out a low laugh. “Don’t worry. She’s getting the harshest sentence possible.”

With Jessie Goff out of the way, Juliana wouldn’t dare try anything reckless again.

...

Peter Clarkson had noticed Jessie Goff acting strange these past few days.

“Jessie, you’ve been spacing out a lot lately.”

Jessie shook her head. “It’s nothing. I just haven’t been sleeping well.”

Peter didn’t press further. He figured she was still upset about Eleanor.

“Hunter handed me a new project. I need you to watch over the R&D department a little more closely. Don’t take your eyes off it. If this project goes well, our company’s value could double compared to last year.”

Jessie barely looked up. “Okay, I got it.”

Peter frowned. He couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. The R&D department was huge. Could she really handle it all by herself?

...

In the office, Hunter glanced at Max, who was lounging on the sofa.

“I already sent that project to Peter, just like you wanted.”
