From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 313

“A honeymoon? For us?”

Eleanor stared at the travel brochures scattered across the coffee table, still trying to wrap her head around it. “Are we really... going on a honeymoon?”

Max met her gaze, completely serious. “Of course we are.”

“Every couple needs a honeymoon. You don’t want to?”

Eleanor went quiet. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to. It was just that after she’d married Peter Clarkson, he’d gone straight back to work the next day. Naturally, she hadn’t stayed home either, trailing after him to the office. Not long after, she got pregnant with their daughter, and any chance of a honeymoon disappeared. Even up to their divorce, she and Peter never took a single trip alone together.

She glanced up, a little unsure. “You want to go on vacation? Isn’t work busy?”

Max shrugged. “Hunter’s got things covered. Besides, it’s the staff who are busy, not the boss. And if something big comes up, we’ve got a whole team of executives.”

There were people for everything. A few days off for a honeymoon wouldn’t bring the company to a halt.

He had gone too far with her that night. It was honestly a lot. Eleanor had spent the past few days avoiding him, unsure what to say or do. Max knew he had to make it up to her somehow.

Eleanor looked back at the brochures he’d picked out, each one showing off beautiful landscapes. “I want to go skiing,” she said.

“Great. Let’s do it.”

She’d always wanted to see Switzerland.

Passports, visas—everything was handled in a day. Eleanor was honestly amazed at how fast Max got things done.

They took a private jet. Eleanor closed her eyes for a nap, and when she woke up, she was surrounded by falling snow as far as she could see.

Max brought her to a ski resort. “A friend owns this place. He said it’s pretty empty right now, so we can just have fun and not worry about crowds.”

Once they arrived, Eleanor realized “empty” was an understatement. There was barely anyone there at all.
