From His Wife to His Uncle's Wife novel Chapter 314

It was a rush, wild and exciting, but it kept her heart in her throat the entire time.

Eleanor squeezed her eyes shut, convinced she was seconds from plowing into the barrier ahead. Out of nowhere, Max veered in front of her, catching her in his arms with perfect timing.

He looked down at her, eyes soft, almost teasing. “Told you, I’d never let you fall.”

Eleanor’s heart was still racing. “You nearly gave me a heart attack.”

He grinned. “Wasn’t it fun, though?”

She couldn’t deny it. It was a blast. But honestly, if she hadn’t had a good teacher, she probably would have ended up risking her life instead of just her dignity.

By the end of the day, Eleanor figured out how to glide slowly without falling. She was exhausted and sore, but in one piece.

Back at the hotel, she finally stripped off the bulky ski suit and let herself thaw in the warmth. The room was cozy and inviting.

Eleanor padded out of the bathroom in a fluffy robe. “That bath was amazing. You should take one, too, if you’re tired.”

Max’s voice dropped, low and rough. “I’m not tired.”

She rolled her eyes. “Come on, you did a ton of skiing today. Your legs are going to be sore tomorrow. Want a massage?”

Eleanor eyed him suspiciously. “You actually know how to give one?”

Max just flashed a cocky smile. “I know a little bit of everything.”

“Fine, but let me get ready first. Go lie down on the bed.”

Max disappeared for a quick shower, then came out with nothing but a towel slung around his hips, water still dripping off his hair and shoulders. Those abs were out in full display, not that Eleanor was looking. She had already buried her face in a pillow.

Max’s gaze darkened as he straddled her hips.

His hands, still cool and damp, pressed into her shoulders, and Eleanor let out a muffled, satisfied sound.

“You can go a little harder,” she mumbled.

Max listened, working his way down her back, slow and steady, until his fingers reached the side of her thigh.

Eleanor, half asleep, suddenly jerked awake. “Wait, hang on...”

But she was too late.

Max flipped her onto her back, pulling her into his arms.
